Another recent new entry is Marie Graves - watercolour and
freehand ceramic artist.
Marie and Peter Graves are ex-coalport prestige artists,
who now design their own pieces of fine bone china and porcelain.
Each item is fired from clay and glazed at least four times.
Three painting fires at 800C and one for the application of
22 carat burnish Gold.
Their new Koi and Aqua range pieces are all finished with
either Platinum or Gold. The fins and tails of the Koi and
Dolphins, Angel Fish and Seahorses are detailed with these
precious metals. Commissions have included presentations to
Her Royal Highness Princess Margaret, President Carter of
the United States of America and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
Their work can be seen at the Gladstone Pottery museum in
Longton Stoke-on-Trent, England and in the book, "A Collectors
History of British Porcelain", by John and Margaret Cushion.
